Eily’s Report – 16th August
Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde and welcome to my report.
We have a winner, Winner Alright ,Our Lotto Jackpot of €20.000 has been won. Won at long last. And the lucky winner is Paddy Golden, Kilmacrane. The lucky seller was Reen’s Pharmacy and they got €2,000 sellers prize. Amid stoppages because of Covid our jackpot had grown from €8,400 on 17.8.2020 ( according to my records but I could be wrong) and when we resumed our weekly draw following a long break .The Jackpot accumulated to a massive €20.000 which was the limit, and we had to stop adding to it but all the time in the background a new jackpot has been growing, enabling the committee to start off again next week following the big win, with a decent Jackpot of €6,400. We’d like to congratulate our winner and wish him the very best of luck with his windfall, and also the sellers Reen’s Pharmacy who will get the €2,000 sellers prize.

The Road of Life
Ballads & Beyond
with Ger Wolfe
MusicAlive is delighted to invite you to an ‘age friendly’ music session with the well-
known Irish musician and singer-songwriter, Ger Wolfe who writes and sings in Irish and English, has been on radio and TV and loves to teach people, whether at universities or in village halls. Christy Moore is a fan: “Ger Wolfe’s songs always raise my spirits; his voice always, always brings me into the song.” Together, you will play and sing existing ballads, old and new, and even go beyond that. Dip your toe into song-writing and experience how natural it is. Like breathing, like singing. Dust down your musical instrument (if you have one) and bring it along.
The sessions are free!
Places are limited so if you want to attend the Millstreet session in the Day Centre, please email <email> or call 029 70926

Not, How Did He Die, But How Did He Live?
Not, how did he die, but how did he live?
Not, what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of his birth.
Nor what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with words of good cheer, To bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, But how many were sorry when he passed away?
