Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde, and welcome to my weekly report.
Apologies for my absence last week. My laptop decided that it needed a little attention and don’t we all from time to time. Lucky for us that we have an expert in the town who makes short work of our modern day elect problems. His premises at the Bridge is the place to go for repairs, for parts or to buy a new appliance as well as much more.
It’s hard not to get excited, the very mention of freedom get minds into overdrive following all the months of Lockdown and regulations. Monday morning of this week dawned bright and sunny just the kind of weather to put everybody in a good mood add to that the euphoria of little children as they return to school for the first time in a very long time. Some since Christmas. Home schooling did a wonderful job, Teachers and pupils have to be commended for the way they kept the lid on things. Children in the main never like going to school but covid19 has changed all that. They never thought they’d miss their friends and indeed their teachers so much. The importance of routine, interaction and discipline came home to them when they were apart from it And now that the long wait is over, we have to offer them God’s Blessing and all the good luck in the world that their young lives will be free from disruption from now on. No doubt the lessons learned in covid19 will live with them for the rest of their lives.
Introducing That’s Life Education
That’s Life Education is a Parent and School based support programme. It is intended for educators and parents of young adolescents. It will be presented in the context of factual and age appropriate information on development of the preteen/teen, physical and emotional, friendship and relationship with others. There will be two main aspect to this programme:
Parent/Preteen sessions due to the changing circumstances in the country with the Coronavirus 19 and not being able to have our parent/preteen sessions That’s Life Education programme now focuses on how best to support a parent(s) and be with them and their child (in a virtual way) and work together in partnership to explain the ongoing process of development in their now preteen child. Book a session with Nurse Maggie to guide you, the parent in giving correct factual information on the more sensitive aspects of puberty. In this way, children will learn the necessary skills and develop attitudes to promote caring and respectful relationships with themselves and others throughout life.
Secondly, That’s Life Education focuses on Schools, already well established with school visits throughout the country, both in Primary and Post primary schools for many years.
That’s Life Education is pleased to announce that since September 2020 we can now offer all our school programmes either face to face with school visits or online (via secure webinar) for schools that are beyond my boundary. Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus 19, we have moved our educational content online via a secure online platform of zoom. And if I am able to visit school’s health and safety is of paramount concern to That’s Life and all visits will be in accordance with Government restrictions and public health guidelines.
How May I Help You?
As a nurse consultant for ‘That’s Life’ I am here to provide specialist advice in the field of Puberty, Sexual Health and relationships in the preteen, young adolescent.

Where The Road Takes Me
After singer Sandie Jones passed away in September of 2019, it was necessary to organise a ‘GoFundMe’ account in order to fulfil her wishes to be brought back to Dublin, to be buried beside her parents.
It was a sad end for an extremely talented and beautiful woman who rose to fame in 1972.
When Joe Mac and Brendan O’Brien left the Dixies Showband to form Stage 2 in 1972, it was Sandie Jones who took over as lead singer with the Cork band.
She won the National Song Contest staged in the Cork Opera House the same year and then went forward to the UK to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest, coming 15th with ‘Ceol an Grá’.
On this week’s edition of ‘Where the road takes me’, John Greene is joined by her brother Tony Jones who emotionally tells the story of his beloved older sister. [read more …] ““Where the Road Takes Me” at 7pm this Sunday on C103″
