Cullen N.S. Helping Others – Children in Need
61 boxes were filled by the pupils in Cullen N.S.
Well done to all our boys and girls making such a great effort. It was our first time participating in the Shoebox Appeal. A great way for kids to help other kids who are less fortunate and a real ‘eyeopener’ too. Helps the boys and girls realise how lucky they are themselves. Well done to all involved and remember ….
“We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone”.St. Brendan’s National School Rathcoole also collected 82 shoe boxes this year which are now on their way to make other children’s Christmas very special.

Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde, and welcome to my report.
‘Oh the cold wind doth blow and we shall have snow, and what will the Robin do then, poor thing’. What will any of us do for that matter, except to take heed of the warnings and take every measure to deal with it. For a long time now we’ve been blessed with very mild weather which has left us in a false sense of complacency and assurance that it ain’t going to rain no more. Then all of a sudden the warnings spring up telling us that we are in line for a spell of frost and snow and wind and rain. If we are wise we will pay heed. But if it never happens well so be it but we are prepared.
So many things have to be considered, care of people ,and stock of course, also family pets. Some in cages in the garden, others such as donkeys or ponies. The cold snap hits them the same as it effects ourselves. Bird feeders also must come into action and the crow that I saw burying a nut some months ago, I hope he will find his stash in good nick to tide him over the bad spell.

We thank Presenter, John Greene, for advance information re this evening’s programme….10th Nov. 2019. (S.R.)
This Sunday evening on C103, John Greene brings you another edition of ‘Where the road takes me’, as he returns to the Lough in Cork City’s Southside.
It’s the second and concluding programme which outlines the life and times of one of Cork’s best known entertainers Billa O’Connell.
This week we hear Billa’s favourite songs and stories, and his time as entertainment manager at one of Cork’s famous hotels.
We hear about his decision to book Hollywood actor, boxer and singer, the gorgeous Gael himself Jack Doyle.
And, on hearing of the mutual admiration between Doyle and Cork hurler Christy Ring, Billa worked on bringing both stars together. [read more …] ““Where the Road Takes Me” at 7 this Evening on C103″

Donagh, Darragh, and Harry, are currently helping to raise awareness of testicular cancer by asking men to complete their short cancer awareness survey. This is a part of the research for their BT Young Scientist project which they hope to be presenting in Dublin next January. A brave project to take on, but one that could actually save lives. It’s simple, anonymous, and will only take a few minutes, so please help them out by completing their survey.
