Dromtariffe Parish Weekly Newsletter

Dear Parishioners

Hope ye are all well & full of hope that soon we will be able to diminish the restrictions we are under.  It is Lenten time & while we are not able to attend Masses yet it is an opportunity in these quieter times to pray individually & as a family for God’s help and protection.  It is difficult on everyone as we can’t make definite plans for anything, but we will adapt to whatever situation we find ourselves in & do our best.  Our prayers are with the teachers & children & their parents that all will go safely & successfully.  May the God who endured the hardship & rigours of the desert help us all through these testing times.

“O God come to our aid; O Lord make haste to help us”.

Second Sunday of Lent – February 28, 2021
For all our priests, who bring us to the mountain of Christ at every Mass and feed us with His transforming love in the sacraments, and for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, we pray to the Lord.

  • Trócaire

Trócaire express their gratitude to all in the diocese for our 2020 diocesan contribution. Despite having no congregations at Easter our return was over €110,000 – two thirds of previous years.

Thank God for the Christian generosity of so many in our parishes.

Every year Trócaire asks for your help during Lent to fund lifesaving programmes around the world. Families like Awut and Ajak’s in South Sudan need your support now more than ever. Trócaire are appealing to you to continue your support this Lent. Resources, prayers, and videos are available on www.trocaire.org and donations can be made to the Lent campaign in the following ways:

  1. By collecting a Trócaire box at the back of the church
  2. Online at trocaire.org
  3. By phone: 1850 408 408 (ROI) or 0800 912 1200 (NI)

The contents of each and every Trócaire box, no matter how small, come together to make a significant difference. This virus knows no borders, but neither does our compassion.
