The death has occurred of Julia Murphy, Gortavehy, Millstreet, Co. Cork.
Julia passed away peacefully in her 106th year on 26th of December 2020 in the loving care of the staff at Killarney Nursing Home. Sadly missed by her loving son Donie, Winnie, nephews, nieces, home helps, relatives, neighbours and friends.

In accordance with the current guidelines, Julia’s Requiem Mass will be private for family and friends on Tuesday in St Patrick’s, Church, Millstreet at 12 noon and burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery. Sincere and heartfelt condolences to Donie and all who knew and loved this wonderful person. As a boy, I remember my time with “Auntie Julia” very fondly; she was always full of life, loved a good laugh, and was extremely kind and generous to my brother and I, when we were children. I always enjoyed my walks with she and her sister (my grandmother), Hannah, RIP. The world would be a much better place if we had more like Julia. May she rest in peace.

There are so many memories that come to mind when I think of Auntie Julia and I feel blessed that we had so many years with her. I especially loved visiting her – she would hold my hand for the entire visit and we would laugh and sing all afternoon. Such a special, kind hearted and gentle person.
