Millstreet Parents Association sadly couldn’t put on the annual ‘Halloween Disco’ this year, so recently over half term they held a Netflix party where children from the Presentation N.S. & Scoil Mhuire Boy’s N.S. watched a film together from the safety of their own homes, also they held a couple of competition’s, firstly a colouring competition and then a fancy dress competition. Below are some of the winners. Thank you to everyone who entered, it was really hard picking the winners and we wish we could have shared all the entries as they were wonderful and scary. Also thank you to both schools and everyone who helped.
We thank Presenter, John Greene for advance information on this Sunday evening’s programme – 15th Nov. 2020 at 7pm on C103. (S.R.)
On this week’s ‘Where The Road Takes Me’, John Greene puts the finishing touches to ‘The Christy Ring Story’, continuing and concluding with the final part, in what was a two part programme.
Just like the death of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, most people also remember where they were when news of Christy Ring’s death broke. Contributors to the programme recall how they received the sad and tragic news………
We invite you to submit your Requests for our weekly Music Request Show “Lunchtime Favourites” (Sunday, 15th Nov. 2020) on Cork Music Station which is broadcast directly after our transmission of the celebration of 11:30 am Mass from 12:10pm until 1.30pm. On this Sunday’s programme we include our popular “Take the Floor” feature for our Superb Dancers!
We very especially celebrate 35 years of superb Twinning with Pommerit le Vicomte. In this week’s “Corkman” John Tarrant shared this truly magnificent feature recalling this wonderful international friendship. We listen to some excellent Breton music during today’s programme. Tap on the images to enlarge. (S.R.)
We feature a very fine selection from Cullen Pipe Band. We remember the late Michael Murphy of Minor Row and how he arranged the appearance of the famous Anne Shelton at “The Star” Ballroom in the 1960s. We listen to Neily O’Connor’s superb version of “Eileen McMahon”.
And we feature lots of cheerful songs from the 1960s as well as two special songs for our young Listeners. From Paddy Murphy‘s Music and Song Website we feature Breeda Tarrant’s wonderful version of “Donegal Shore”.
