Dromtariffe Parish Newsletter 9 to 15 November

My dear parishioners,

I hope you are not finding level five very hard and that we will weaken the virus very much during November.  In the meantime, I will continue with private Masses for Station Districts as on the weekly newsletter.  A copy of newsletters is on the noticeboard of each church & Millstreet.ie, diocesan website, Duhallow area newsletter on Facebook, Dromtariffe GAA & the primary schools’ websites.

During November we remember especially all our beloved dead and I will offer Mass each Monday in November at 7.30pm as well as All Souls Day at 7.30pm for all those names you have handed in on your November lists.  We will pray also for those in the named Station Districts.  Communication is very difficult in these times so I hope you will pass on this message. Thanks.

As usual we will offer Mass for all those who died since November Memorial Mass last year.  A copy of their names will be on the newsletters each week and on the noticeboards. I will celebrate this Memorial Mass on Monday 30th November.  We will be pleased to include in this Mass any relatives of parishioners who have died outside the parish so please hand in their name and address to the presbytery as soon as possible so that they can be displayed in the churches.

We pray that the God of life will give them all eternal life.

Finally, a sincere word of thanks to the many who have handed in fund envelopes, dues and November envelopes.  You are so generous and may God reward your goodness and kindness.

Keep safe and well

Fr Tom

P.S. I will also go privately to our graveyards and bless the graves and pray for the dead.

  • Praying Sunday Mass online

As we gather at home for our Sunday Mass celebrations online, some suggestions that might help our prayer-time: Create a sacred space where you will sit to attend Mass e.g. using a crucifix or candle or icon, just like you might do if preparing for a house Mass. Invite family members to name a prayer intention that everyone will pray for during the Mass. Stand to hear the Gospel or to join in praying the Our Father, just like you would in church. We are reminded of the words of Jesus – ‘Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in their midst’ – We remember that Jesus Christ is present in our homes as we pray at Mass together.

  • The Diocese of Kerry will host a webinar, November – a time for reflection with Fr Jim Cogley, priest, woodturner and psychotherapist on Monday Nov 9th @ 8pm – 8.30pm.
