It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the temporary closure of our gym, beginning 9pm on Wednesday 21st October in response to the Governments decision to move to Level 5 of the national COVID 19 plan. All memberships will be frozen from the time we close our doors until the day we reopen.
We look forward to seeing everybody again once we are permitted to re open for business. Until then, we ask that everybody please stay safe, stay active and stay healthy. However, we will not be going quiet on social media. We will still be providing you with home workouts, tasty recipes and quick tips to help still progress while at home. If anybody would like a custom program made for them that utilises the equipment they have available to them, please get in touch and we will arrange something for you free of charge. This will be a challenging time for some people, so please stay in touch, check in with each other and reach out if you find that you are struggling. We are all in this together.
Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde, and welcome to my report.
Prayers were never so needed as we sink down further into the abyss that is Corona Virus. Prayer is a wonderful prop when there is nothing better to be had. From where I’m standing and looking back at the years that have gone, prayer was vitally important. If somebody, a family member, a neighbour, a friend’s friend was sick, perhaps waiting for an X-Ray result or facing an operation, then those close to her/him would engage in extra prayers, Novenas, Masses that the Good Lord would make them better. But this time it’s different, we are all in there. All in the same boat, needing so many different things for so many different people so the best thing for it is to have we all put our shoulders to the wheel, both for ourselves and for those around us. There is no need to be sad or morose about it.

Tonight…on this Tuesday, 20th Oct. 2020… on “Radio Treasures” broadcast on Cork Music Station 9:30 to 11:00pm we feature our regular items with a splendid blend of uplifting songs and music… tonight we feature a selection of songs and music with lots of variety as well as lots of interesting musings and words of wisdom.
We had such a wonderful response to last week’s “Radio Treasures” Show when we featured the voice of the late Conchubhar Ó hÉalaithe from a 2008 recording of Jimmy Reidy’s “Round the Fireside”. Tonight we feature from that same recording the voice of Joan O’Mahony superbly relating the story of Fr. Breen in the Millstreet of the Fight for Independence. We also feature a very moving poem recited by Tim Looney….All this at 10pm on tonight’s programme which also includes Songs by Charley Pride, Nana Mouskouri, Jim Reeves, Joan O’Leary, Neil Diamond, Mario Lanza …. and so many more! We hear about James Wickham‘s creative suggestion for a really interesting competition! And we explore a treasury of quotes on the importance of Laughter in our lives….especially in the times we presently experience. And we chat about these images:
