Carriganima Community Development Association is pleased to announce that the special publication ‘Ár Scéal Féin / Our own story’ is now on sale.  This book was compiled to mark the centenary of Carriganima native, An tAthair Peadar Ó Laoghaire.  Centenary celebrations had been scheduled for March 20, but, due to the current restrictions, these had to be postponed.
Ár Scéal Féin is an interesting, lively and insightful compendium of stories, recitations, folklore, wit, memories and photographs of life in Carriganima and the surrounding areas over the past one-hundred years.  It was edited by James O’Leary, who also penned some of the beautiful articles.  James and the members of Carriganima Community Development Association are most grateful to all those who contributed, in any way, to the book.
Ár Scéal Féin retails at €20 / copy, and can be purchased from the following: Healy’s Shop / Clondrohid Post Office; Ó Luaghasa’s Centra and Post Office, Baile Mhic Íre; M. & J. Kelleher Oils Clondrohid; and Ring’s Garage Carriganima.  Copies can also be had from Joe’OLeary, Carriganima and Brendan O’Keeffe (Cloghoulabeg, Eircode: P51 KF68).  Joe and Brendan have put the books in their front porches, so you can collect and pay for your copy of the book, while complying with the social distance regulations.
