Millstreet Bridge Club Cheque Presentation to Louise of S.B.H.I.

This afternoon (Fri. 28th Dec. 2018) in the presence of Members of Millstreet Bridge Club an uplifting cheque of €550.00 was presented by Millstreet Bridge Club President, Breeda O’Keeffe (pictured on right) following a recent charity occasion – to Louise Healy, Respite and Recreation Manager, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (S.B.H.I.).   Louise very kindly provided us with an insight into this all-important Charity and this may be read at the end of our feature.   Here we share the official handing over of the cheque at a very festive adorned Millstreet Day Care Centre.   Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

> SBHI (Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland) serves over 1,000 members who live with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. We also support thousands of other people who are affected by the conditions including family, friends, carers, and the education and medical professionals who interact with our members on a daily basis.
>>
>> We deliver our support through the following departments within SBHI: the Family Support Worker team, the Recreation and Respite team, the SBHI Resource Centre (Clonshaugh), the Education Officer, and the National Resource Centre, Clondalkin.
>>
>> The staff involved in this work are highly dedicated and seek to ensure that every person in Ireland living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus receives maximum access to life-transforming services over the whole of their life-time.
>>
>> Amongst our most exciting work is that of the SHINE summer project which sees over 80 members attending six separate week-long residential camps that facilitate independence training, peer support, and social opportunities – all underpinned with a huge dose of fun! We are always looking for volunteers to join us for our summer weeks. If you are interested please go to our website www.sbhi.ie or email Louise (Respite and Recreation Manager) on lhealy@ sbhi.ie
