Each Tuesday & Wednesday the box will be placed on the altar for Mass and then placed in the Adoration Chapel so that people attending can pray for them

SAFEGUARDING SUNDAY
This is our first diocesan Safeguarding Sunday. At the back of each church there are leaflets available which gives an overview of the situation in our diocese both as regards our safeguarding practice & how the diocese deals with allegations. What is safeguarding? In essence safeguarding is about 3 things:
Awareness of appropriate behaviour for adults working with young people.
Awareness about our procedures to ensure safe practice is achieved.
Awareness about the difference categories of abuse and how to report a safeguarding concern within the diocese.
The National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church have published all the policies and procedures required. They provide training for our diocesan Safeguarding Trainers. They also review our practice periodically and they are always available if we need advice or have a question. Training is undertaken by our Parish Safeguarding representatives, our Sacristans, Priests & anyone who is involved in the supervision of children within Parish duties.
