ICON OF THE HOLY FAMILY

As part of the preparation for the World Meeting of Families the Icon of the Holy Family will be on display in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney this weekend until next Tuesday 17th at 4.00p.m. A petition box accompanies the Icon and intentions will be brought to the Closing Mass of the World Meeting of Families at which Pope Francis will preside. These intentions will be sent to religious communities across the country where they will be prayed for daily in the intervening five months. We encourage you to visit this beautiful work of art.

Community Notices

  • THANK YOU to everyone who supported the coffee morning and street collections for Daffodil Day this year. The total raised at the coffee morning €650.00 and the street collections raised €4,994.00. Your generous contributions are appreciated by the local organisers.

  • CLOGHOULA N.S. CLOTHES COLLECTION: Any unwanted clothing may be dropped off to the school any day between 9.30a.m. & 2.30p.m.

  • MILLSTREET GRAMOPHONE CIRCLE: This month’s presentation takes place on Friday 20th April at 8.15p.m. in the Canon O’Donovan Centre. Guest presenter is Ivor Horton, Drishane Road. All welcome.

  • CONCERT FOR LIFE featuring talented musicians and soprano Laura O’Keeffe will take place in the Friary, Killarney, on April 15th at 7.30p.m.

  • NATIONAL APOSTOLATE OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: Annual pilgrimage to Knock on 29th April. The theme this year is on the “Protection of Life 8th Amendment”.

  • ARDFERT RETREAT CENTRE: Lectia Divina with Fr. Brendan Clifford on Thursday 26th April between 7.00 & 8.30p.m.

  • WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES: This is a brief outline of events Wednesday 22nd – Friday 24th August: 3 day Congress in the RDS. Saturday 25th August: Festival of Families, Dublin venue  Croke Park. Sunday 26th August: Closing Mass, Dublin venue Phoenix Park. The ticketing policy for the final Mass has not yet been finalized. Tickets for the Congress are now on sale:

Adult pilgrims €68 for the entire event (admission to 3 day Congress + Festival of Families + Closing Mass) These can be booked for individuals and groups. Online Registration now open http://www.worldmeeting2018.ie/en/Tickets/Tickets-Registration. Single day at the Congress Adult pilgrim €38 or €33 for students / unwaged. Under 18s are free but must be registered and attend with parents / guardians
