The death has occurred on Saturday 23rd December 2017 of John F O’Connell, Milton, Toronto, Canada & late of Lyrevocane, Cullen. Peacefully surrounded by his Family in the excellent care of the staff at Allendale Nursing Home, beloved husband of Bridie and loving father of David and Sean. Predeceased by his sister Eileen, brother Timothy and his parents Tim and Monica. Deeply regretted by his wife, sons, brother Joe, sister Winiferd, daughter-in-law Athena, Laura and grandchildren Ethan, Aidan and Eimly, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Memorial Mass will take place at the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Derrinagree on Thursday 4th of January at 7.30pm. [1]

O’CONNELL, John – (April 24, 1944 – December 23, 2017) – Peacefully at Allendale, after an arduous battle with PSP, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Bridie (nee Quinn) his sons; David (Athena) and Seán (Laura), grandchildren; Ethan, Aidan and Emily, brother Joe and sister Winifred, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and god children, countless friends and friends who became family.
Predeceased by his sister Eileen, brother Timothy and his parents Tim and Monica.
In lieu of flowers we are asking people to donate to PSP Canada or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
Friends and family are welcome to gather at McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, 114 Main St East, Milton on Thursday, December 28th from 6-9pm.
A Funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 139 Martin St. Milton on Friday, December 29th at 11am, with reception to follow. [2]
