From Irish Water: The Boil Water Notice affecting Millstreet Public Water Supply has been lifted. See wtr.ie/Cork for more details.

The two new UV Filters have been installed and have been operational with a week, but checks have had to me made to ensure that they were working properly and that water quality was correct. We’ll try to find out more on what’s the story.

=================

€200,000 has been spent by Irish Water on the completion of the new ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system at the treatment plant.

==========

On September 12th 2017, some media (RefFM, C103, independent.ie, …) had articles stating that Millstreet’s water supply was vulnerable to Crypto in the water supply. It turns out that the articles are referring to the EPA report for the 2nd quarter of 2017, which states that “Works Complete but need verification of the effectiveness of the action plan”.
The boil notice was lifted on June 14th.
