Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome.

The month of May is moving on with the lovely weather making it live up to it’s name. In spite of a dreadful winter and a late spring the countryside looks a beautiful picture, lush and green and a blaze of colour, with silage making already getting under way.

Our vibrant Turf CoOp are about to head into their 35th year in business. In excess of 120 people have signed up for this season and cutting  in Gneeves is expected to begin in the next few days. We wish them fine weather.

The sun shone brightly at the weekend when 43 of our little children from the girls and boys national schools received their first Holy Communion. The Church was packed as parents grandparents, cousins and friends came along to be with them on their Big Day. Next morning they attended the 11.30 Sunday Mass and at the end they all went on to the alter steps and gave a wonderful recital of  regilious songs for which they got a rousing applause.

We offer them and their parents our sincere congratulations and God’s Blessing in the future.
