The Fools Day prank on our website certainly wiped the fog from many eyes at the prospect of having our very own skyscraper in the heart of Millstreet Town. Well done Michael, for making us all sit up and indeed for the wonderful pictures of the old CloghoulaSchool. Please keep them coming.
From March 24th to April 3rd there were equestrian competitions going on almost every day at the Green Glens complex. Unfortunately the weather was not too kind, and the very peak of the events, which was the eventing at Drishane, had to be cancelled because of the fear of damaging the ground. But that aside the weather did nothing to curb the 4000 entries that took part.
In the month of July we will have the World Team Mounted Games Championships to look forward to. They will be held from July 12th to 16th and we hope for better weather by then.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at the Clara Inn on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were,

The Closing of the Divine Mercy Novena was held in our Church on Sunday at three o clock. And very large crowd attended. Canon John presided and both the church choir and the community singers were represented.Confessions were held before and throughout the ceremony. This novena is held every year starting on Good Friday .
Our Community Singers are in great demand and have to even juggle their times to fit in all their engagements.
They have rehearsal every Thursday evening at the Parish Centre from 7.30. There are over twenty members,both men and women, and new members always welcome.
Their next engagement is at McCarthys Bar on this Saturday night April 9th . And next day Sunday April 10th they have been invited to perform at a special Mass in the Church at 2.30. All members please attend Thursday Nights rehearsal.
Meanwhile our Church choir meet for rehearsal at the Parish Centre every Wednesday night at 8pm. Again new members are very welcome and no previous training is required.
The Knitting Club meet every Tuesday night at the Adult Learning Centre in the Main Street.
From 7 -9 .and all are welcome.
Our Mens Shed meet at their new premises in Church Street every Tuesday. In the forenoon and again at night. Their contact is Bertie Buckley at 087 6793841.

The brighter evenings have lured people out to partake in all kinds of exercise and outdoor activities, We have a wide range of walks to choose from .The well known trip around the Glebe, the 5 mile ring of Kilmeedy/Curacahil. The Clara Loop to name but a few. But there is of course our beautiful Town Park with its twenty four piece adult outdoor gym along the perimeter walk. All are free of charge and there to be enjoyed.

In Closing I want on behalf of my self and my extended family to thank all the many, many people who supported us so kindly at the sad passing of our dear brother, Dato Bro. Vincent Corkery , at his mission in Ipoh, Malaysia , where he served since 1948 as a member of the De la Salle Order. He was interred in Ipoh on March 22nd. Following a mere few months after his life long friend, in the missions Bro. Charles O Leary, Cashloura.
May their humble souls Rest in Peace.

Eily,if you don’t fancy going out the country for your walk,particularly during the winter,the town itself is a great walk. Start in the Square and walk to Drishane. Come back,walk to the entrance to Mount Leader and finish in the Square. 3.5 miles,a few slopes to get the heart pumping and with footpath and lighting all the way,so no excuse.Just 1 hour.
