Very Special Tribute to Joan Casey – Millstreet Camogie Club 2016 – Superb Celebration on Tonight Feb 13th at 7.30 in the Wallis Arms Hotel

After many years of being the driving force behind Millstreet Camogie Club, Joan Casey has been selected by the Cork County Camogie Association, as their recipient of the “Volunteer of the Year Award” for  2015.Joan will be going forward as the Cork representative for the National Volunteer of the Year award in Croke Park on February 20th.

This award is an acknowledgment of her dedication to Millstreet Camogie Club and also for being the face of Millstreet Camogie Club at County Board Level. 

Joan’s role extends from the mundane job of jersey washing to the complexity of co-ordinating matches, while always having the girls best interests at heart.

Joan is held in very high esteem by all in the club from the U8’s to parents, trainers and all in the committee, and is the person everyone turns to for advice.

Thanks to Joan, the club has developed greatly number wise, as well as winning many county titles and being well represented on the field on various county teams.

No amount of words could do justice to the commitment and selfless work Joan continues to do on behalf of Millstreet Camogie. 

Joan will be honoured at the Millstreet Camogie Club Social on Saturday Feb 13th at 7.30pm, in the Wallis Arms Millstreet, when County Board Chairperson, Marian McCarthy, and Secretary, Sheila Golden will present Joan with her prestigious award.

The club is also privileged to have dual star and multiple All-Ireland medal winner, Rena Buckley in attendance on the night.

Therefore, the club is expecting many past and present members and their families to attend this great celebration. This is also an opportunity for any past members of the club to reunite and reminisce on times past, playing with the club.  So put the date in your diary – Saturday Feb 13th at 7.30pm in the Wallis Arms Hotel, for a great night out.
