Collection of items for ‘Kerry to Calais’ initiative at Millstreet Community School

This is a reminder that the collection of items for the Kerry to Calais group which is part of a national initiative to provide relief to those who have migrated to Europe in recent months, will take place on Friday 25th September between 8.45am and 11am in Millstreet Community School.  If you wish to donate from the list below, please bring the items to room 2A between these times. They will then be brought to a collection depot in Killarney in the afternoon. • Blankets/woolly hats/scarfs/gloves ONLY (all of which can be second hand but in a condition which we might use ourselves) • soap • shampoo • toothbrushes and toothpaste • deodorant • shaving foam and razors • face clothes • packets of tissues • wipes • towels Thank you very much.

  1. I would like to contribute to this very thoughtful humanitarian effort, but I don’t live in Millstreet or Ireland. Is it possible for me to contribute money to the Cork Calais Refugee Solidarity? If so, please let me know how to do so and in any case please know that I support your efforts.
    Thank you, Michael Moynihan, USA

    1. Michael, I’m afraid that I’m not sure if there is a way of contributing financially to Cork Calais Refugee Solidarity. Sorry about that. They may have a facebook page you could check on though. Thanks for the kind words.
