TANGNEY (Millstreet): On May 26, 2014, peacefully, after a short illness, at the South Infirmary Victoria Hospital, Cork, TERESA (nee Linnane), beloved wife of John Joe and loving mother of Evelyn, Catherine, Denis, Nicholas and Anne. Sadly missed by her loving family, her twin brother Tim, sons-in-law Edward and Niall, daughter-in-law Grace, grandchildren Aoife, Sean, Ellie, Zoe, Kate and Lydia, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Tarrant’s Funeral Home, Millstreet on this Wednesday evening from 6pm. Removal to St Patrick’s Church, Millstreet at 8pm. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Thursday, at 12 noon, followed by burial in Drishane Cemetery. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.

Mrs Tangney taught me for two years & she was a fantastic teacher. It was a pleasure to be taught by her. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
Gillian – we all wholeheartedly agree with you in your sincere comment regarding what a truly superb Teacher Teresa Tangney was and we, as Staff in the Presentation N.S., were so privileged to have been teaching with such a true lady who was Friend to all and so wonderfully creative. The esteem in which Teresa is held was so clearly illustrated in the very impressive Guard of Honour at the Funeral tonight which included many retired Teachers and the present teaching Staff as well as great Friends who had contact with the School. Great has been Teresa’s magnificent influence on so many in Millstreet and she would have been so thrilled to have seen the flying of two Kerry Flags at the entrance of the School tonight with the many Kerry people present for Teresa’s Funeral so delighted to note this gesture. From Kerry to Millstreet Town on her journey in life
Where to the draper and Gaelic footballer John Joe Tangney she became the wife
And raised her sons and daughters the parents of today
The past and present linked to the future in life it is this way
In her community work and teaching she became loved and widely known
The seeds that grow to the fruits of friendship everyday by her were sown
One who done a lot of good things in her lifetime span
Teresa was a nice person and lived as a good woman
Many years have passed since Teresa came to live in Millstreet though it seem only like yesterday
Time does not wait on anyone it does tick and tick away
In life for everyone of us there is a last farewell
To us a reminder of our mortality on the tolling of the funeral bell
Her last remains are in Drishane near where she lived and was growing old
But her spirit is in Kerry with the famous green and gold.
