Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a  cairde and welcome to News Report 1186 from Millstreet.
We had a great weekend here in Millstreet and lots of money were raised for  some very good causes. It kicked off on Saturday with a 10k walk or run starting out from the Pub in Carriginma. It was a first and over 100 people took part. There was no shortage of cooling drinks and sticking plaster, along the way and later there was Music and Dancing with Tommy G. All the proceeds will be divided between Millstreet and Macroom Hospitals.
Sean and Matt at the Pub have top be commended for the great work that they do for their community in the greater Carriganima area.
Apart from that Our beautiful Country Park ran a super Kite Festival which attracted huge crowds. Again it was a first but one that is destined to become an annual event. The weather was great and children and adults had a great time, even learned how to make their own kite.  All the proceeds will go to Cancer research. And well done to all concerned.

Our Pipe Band held their annual Church Gate collection. It was well supported  and they want to thank all those who gave so generously.

A lot of our town Square is taken up at the moment by the ongoing work to improve that part of our town, and when it is finished it will be worth the inconvenience.
