  1. Greetings Elly, would you by any chance be related to the Buckley’s from Knocknakilla ? My 2nd great grandfather was Denis Buckley and his wife was Ellen Walsh.

Last fall my wife and I had the great pleasure of meeting 3 of my Buckley cousins who live in Millstreet – Bertie, Seamus and sister Eileen O’Mahoney. They were most welcoming so much so that we are returning for a 3 day stay in early Oct. Cousin Danny is coming home from Wales to meet up with us and we jointly look to do some ancestral research. I am thinking of organizing a get together at the Wallis Arms. Don’t know if you might be able/willing to help publicize the get together or refer me to someone who cold help get the word out.

I enjoy reading your informative column.

All the Best, Jack Buckley from Boston

  2. Jack,

Know that this is a long short, but my grandmother was Nora t. Buckley born in Clondrohoid (near Millstreet) in abt 1875 and married Patrick McNulty, of Millstreet, in Boston in 1900. They lived in Somerville most of their lives. Other known Buckleys were Cornelius and Daniel.

Thank you and enjoy your stay in the great town of Millstreet.

    Regards,

    Paul McNulty
