A milestone in so many ways was marked at Millstreet Museum in the Carnegie Hall today (13th June 2013) as the famous Liscahane Ogham Stone was expertly transported and put in position by the superbly obliging members of Millstreet Branch of Cork Co. Council. We thank the men who faced and overcame the challenge of such a very heavy historic stone. Special thanks also to Denis O'Shea of C.C.C. who could not have been more helpful. We were delighted to welcome Barry and Dominic from Storefit, Cork who are so expertly constructing our new Centre with new glass units and shelving over today and tomorrow. When all our units are in place Mary Kelleher, Mary Cronin and I will certainly have a very busy time filling the various shelves, adding labels, signage etc.. So the re-opening of Millstreet Museum and Tourist Information Centre moves a significant step closer. (S.R.)
