fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this beautiful warm, sunny Tuesday morning.

Public Mass was said in our Parish Church on Monday evening for the Late Mons. Manning who passed away recently.

The Organisers of our Walking Festival were delighted with the fine weather over the weekend. Their prayers were answered and a fine crowd turned out both on Saturday and Sunday to take on our many walks that are routed through our finest scenery.

The organisers of the Monster MAC. (Millstreet Ahtletic Challenge) will be hoping for more of the same this weekend when the Mighty Country Park will be the starting point for this challenging event. Details are on the web.

Last year our own Brian Murphy was second and we wish him all the best  again this time round. There are three categories, 20 km, 34km & 64km. Starts as early as 10am and all are welcome to come and cheer them on.

Our Development Group won the honour of providing the Marshals or stewards ,and will get €800 for their trouble. We wish  the BIG M.A.C. every success.

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered in Dromtarriffe to-day and  in our Parish Church on to-morrow Wednesday with Mass at 11 am. As a result there will be no ten ‘o clock Mass and the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for Wednesday will not begin until 1.30 pm.

Tea Party on May 18th are on sale by members of the Community Council. Catering on the night will be by the renowned   Denis Doody, of Kingdom Caterers, Niamh Cavannagh is looking foreward to being there as our special guest . The previous , May 17th our Development Group are hosting a EuroV Type Kareoke competition, at the Wallis Arms Hotel,and they will have the wellknown PJ Coogan as DJ that night. Look up the web for details.

 

A note from the Glen Theatre to say that they will host a Concert with Elenor Shanley on this Saturday April 27th .

Tomorrow April 24th ,I want to share my own birthday wishes  with the lovely Joanne O Riordan who will be 17. and my favourite singer Johnnie McAvoy.

 

A note from LTV2 to say that program 217 was recorded last night and great strides have been made, to bring it to more people. It can be found on UHF Channel 30. It will of course be available world-wide on UTube. Thanks to Bernard Crowley.

 

Many congratulations to the lovely Kathryn Cleary who won the €1,000 Cash Call on 103 during the week.

 

Full marks to all those who have picked up the rubbish on our roadsides . The sight of all the  Green bags full of rubbish, are evidence of the way mindless people litter our roadsides. It is breaking the law and if caught, can prosecute.

 

The AGM of our Turf Co-Op will take place at the Canon O Donovan Centre on to-morrow Wednesday night at 9pm.

The final night in the present series of our Community Singers will be held at the Parish Centre this Thursday night at 7.30.

Millstreet are doubly involved in the Ducon Cup next weekend, away to Lyre in Banteer on Friday at 7.30pm

while they are also away to Boherbue on Sunday with a 3pm throw in.

Here are the results of this week’s parish lotto draw which was held at McCartys Bar on Sunday night.

Numbers drawn were9, 18, 23 27 and the Jackpot was not won.

€100 went to Ellen Curtin, Drishane Rd the seller was Herlihy Centra and they got €50 sellers prize.

€50 went to Kevin O Connor, Rathrue.
