German techno hard dance group Scooter played in the Green Glens back in 2002. DJ Krisp and Richie D were to do a 45 min set each then Scooter were to take to the stage … except their plane got diverted to Galway and they decided taxis weren’t good enough to get them to the gig which was to finish at midnight! The result was DJ Krisp and Richie D Played the whole gig. Lots of the crowd had to leave because of buses were leaving. Scooter took the stage at 12.10, and played for 40 mins.
It was great having concerts on our doorsteps. Hopefully with the push to have large concerts at Drishane in the near future (which we reported back in January), we’ll have more to cheering and dancing to shout about 🙂
