We lost 2-0 at home to Leeside B in the County Cup this morning. We started the game well and saw a lot of the ball without creating too many chances. Leeside came into it after about 20 mins but we had the first good chance. A corner was swung in by Paul Dawson and John Lehane met it on the volley at the back post but it was deflected just wide. 5 mins later Chris Cleary shot wide after a cross from Brian Murphy. Leeside took the lead just before half time when a free kick was pushed on to the bar but fell nicely for their player to slot home. The second half started badly for us when we went 2 down just 5 mins in. We tried to get going after this but the tempo just wasn’t there today and Leeside broke up a lot of our attacks very well. We did have a couple of half chances through Tadhg Collins and Cleary but in the end Leeside ran out deserved winners. Best for us on the day were Michal Maciaz and Michael Murphy.
