Medjugorje Pilgrimage 2012 – Part One

Arrival at Dubrovnik Airport in Croatia on Wednesday, 26th Sept. 2012 at the beginning of our pilgrimage to Medjugorje.    Having left Cork Airport almost three hours earlier we arrived well after midnight in Croatia where an excellent coach was ready to take us on the three-hour journey to the north to Medjugorje in Bosnia Hercegovina.   (S.R.)

Coordinated by Tom Dennehy, some sixty-one people set off on a week- long pilgrimage to the world famous Marian Shire where Our Lady has been appearing to six visionaries since 1981.   The coach left Kiskeam in the afternoon and collected a number of pilgrims at various points such as “The Sandpit” in Dromtariffe.   When we arrived in Medjugorje having had a coach stop on our three-hour journey we were served soup and refreshments in our hotel…about 4.00 a.m..   We were up bright and early the next day to glorious sunshine with average temps. throughout the next week at 33 degrees centigrade!   Much warmer than most people expected for that time of the year. We soon became accustomed to the very different climate.
