    1. Just to clarify, Rathcoole is in County Cork, but the Diocese of Kerry. The record above is from the Catholic Parish records. The county border is different to the Diocesan border

  3. Very interesting information about the Lynch family of Rathcoole.

My Great Grandmother was Catherine (Kate) Lynch, of Rathcoole, born 3.5.1844.
Her parents were Timothy & Catherine Lynch.
She married my Great Grandfather Morgan Donovan, of Banteer on 28.7.1868,
    at Dromtarriffe Church.
They lived in Dublin where Morgan worked as a Clerk in the Education Office.
They had 6 children – Timothy (a priest), Catherine (Loretto Order nun in Mauritius)
Ellen (Wilkinson), Mary (Giltinan), Morgan, and Nora, (O’Sullivan, known as Dolly – my
    Grandmother)
If anyone has information about the Lynch or Donovan family, I would be most interested.
I live in the Inniscarra area.

Should be able to track Daniel Lynch and his wife as they were school teachers … but i’m not sure how to. I’ve lost them after Katherine was born in 1875 🙁

    1. Belated thanks for that information on Daniel Lynch, Rathcoole (brother of my Great Grandmother, Catherine Lynch Donovan)
Their brother Canon Denis Lynch (1838-1911) is buried in the grounds of Blarney Church.
I have not been able to trace the rest of the siblings – Ellen, Margaret, Timothy & Mary.
