Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this warm and rather overcast,Tuesday morning.

 

A million congratulations to our brilliant Tidy Towns Committee and all their helpers on getting on so well in the Competition finals which were announced yesterday.

Millstreet won a National Bronze Medal Award of €400 in Category D (population of 2,500 to 5000), and raised our score by four points to 295 . They also won Category D for Cork North (well ahead of Fermoy, Mitchelstown and Charleville), and finished second overall in Cork North only to previous national champions Coolagown, and our committee were ‘Highly Commended’.

The winner nationally was Abbeyshrule, Co Longford who had a score of 312 points. Please look up our website for the finer details.  In the meantime let us once again congratulate all those who had any hand in our fine achievements at this year’s awards. And please continue to keep Millstreet and its approach roads clean and tidy.

Community Council Meeting to-night at the Youth Centre starting at 9. All members please attend.

A note here to say that our Toddler Group is up and running at the GAA Hall every Tuesday morning at the new time of 9.45 to 11.45.   And there’s room for beginners. Just drop in.

Coffee Morning in aid of Marymount Hospice this Thursday morning September 13th from 9.30 to 12.30 in GAA Hall.

The  fundraiser in Ballydaly  for the same cause is on Friday September 21st. from 8 to 10pm.

Set Dancing in Ballydaly Hall resumes on Wednesday September 19th from 8.30 to 10.30 all welcome.

Church Gate collection in Millstreet this weekend is in aid of the popularMallowHospital. Please support it well.

Our Pipe Band will have their Church Gate Collection on September 22/23rd, and they have room for new band members. Enrollment will take place at the Crèche on September 21st at 8.

Anybody who would like to join the Active Retirement group please ring or call to the Canon O Donovan Centre during Office Hours. The number there is 029 70926.

Comhaltas Music Lessons at the GAA Hall, enrollment this Friday September 14th from 3 to 5pm.

Out in the pub in Carriginma, they will have Big Maggie in concert on Saturday night.

Eucharistic Adoration in our Church every Tuesday And Wednesday from 10.30 am to 10.30 pm. In Cullen at the same times on Thursdays, and in Ballydaly on Fridays from 5 to 9pm.

And a special notice from our Mass leaflet this week to say the we will have a Parish Mission from October 27th to November 2nd.

Aubane Set Dancing will re – commence in Aubane on Monday 17 September at 9.15 pm.

Cards for Fun will start in Aubane Community Centre on Wednesday 19th September at 8.30 pm.

Following their recent very successful race night at Corkery’s Bar our busy Macra Group will take part in

The Muskerry Macra round of Impromptu debating which  is taking place in our Pastoral Centre on this Friday the 14th of September at seven o clock!  All are welcome!

Millstreet  V Rockchapel in the Duhallow Junior A Football Championship Final  inNewmarket on Sunday  at 2pm.

 

Here are the results of this week’s Parish Lotto Draw which was held at Corkery’s Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were
