Dia is Mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1112 from Millstreet.
Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this lovely sunny but showery Tuesday morning .
This is a very historic week here in Millstreet when 15 year old Joanne O’Riordan was flown off the New York along with her parents and her brother Steven where she will address a meeting of the United Nations. Joanne made history 15 years ago when she was born without and limbs, a condition known as total Amelia. Since then she has continued to amaze people from
all walks of life, world wide, by the way that she copes with her disability. She has taken the world of technology on, and made it her own. In spite of her draw-backs she is bright and bubbly and endears herself to everybody.
Her recent appearance on the Late Late Show launched her on the world stage, and resulted in her being invited to New York where she will tell members of the United Nations how she copes as a young girl with total Amelia. She will also meet the Irish Ambassador and there’s a whole line-up of things for her to do for the week that she will be there. Look out for an account of her trip in the media. And as always we wish her well. [read more …] “Regional Report 1112 – 24th April 2012”
