On this Good Friday morning this is how Clara Mountain looked. The Cross was carefully taken down on Thursday, 5th April 2012. A splendid new Cross will replace this. In 1950 the Holy Year Cross was put in place on Clara Mountain’s summit. It was replaced in 1967 and again in 1984. Therefore the new Cross will be the fourth. With hundreds of people attending, Holy Mass was celebrated on Clara Mountain in 2000 with a very special plaque unveiled on that historic 50th anniversary occasion by the late Tadhg O’Driscoll.
