Kevin Crowley was today presented with the 96FM/C03 GAA Sports Star of the Month award for February in association with the Rochestown Park Hotel.
Kevin, from the Millstreet GAA club, was a key member of the Cork Vocational Schools’ senior football team that won the All-Ireland senior title recently, defeating champions Donegal in the final. He also won a Munster Championship with his school, Coláiste Treasa Kanturk, and is a member of the Cork minor football panel.
We lost 2-0 at home to Leeside B in the County Cup this morning. We started the game well and saw a lot of the ball without creating too many chances. Leeside came into it after about 20 mins but we had the first good chance. A corner was swung in by Paul Dawson and John Lehane met it on the volley at the back post but it was deflected just wide. 5 mins later Chris Cleary shot wide after a cross from Brian Murphy. The death has occurred of Ned Buckley of Knocknakilla and Mill Lane, Millstreet. Reposing at Tarrant’s Funeral Home, Millstreet this Sunday evening, with removal to St. Patrick’s Church at 7:30pm. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Monday at 12 noon followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
