Innishvilla 1 Millstreet Celtic 1

We drew 1-1 away to Innishvilla today after a hard fought and entertaining game. Innishvilla started the game better and had a couple of half chances which came to nothing. We started to get into the game after 15 mins and had a good period of pressure which saw us create chances for Tadhg Collins and Michael Murphy. We were made to pay for not making the pressure count in the 35th min when they scored with a good strike from outside the box. It took us just 3 mins to get back level though. Murphy picked up a loose ball in midfield and threaded a lovely ball through for Collins to slot home. We started the 2nd half brightly and almost took the lead in the 50th min. Paul Dawson found Collins in the box and his strike was cleared off the line by a defender. Both teams were having their periods of dominance and it was our turn from the 55th to 70th min. Murphy fizzed a shot just over and Mark Ellis forced a good save from the keeper. Collins got though after that but shot wide before Dawson jinked his way into the box only to see his shot smothered by the keeper. The last 20 mins saw Innishvilla taking over again and they created a number of chances but, like ourselves, were unable to get the all important 2nd goal. It finished 1-1 in what was a very good game. Best for us on the day were Shane Collins, Michael Murphy and Chris Cleary.
Team: Piotr Oziast, Eamon O Keeffe, Shane Collins, Tim Kiely, John Lehane, Chris Cleary, Eric Hickey, Paul Dawson, Michal Maciaz, Michael Murphy, Tadhg Collins
Subs: Mark Ellis (30th min), Donagh Murphy (75th min), Adrian O Connor

  1. It’s a pity that Douglas Hall are having such an amazing season. I suppose it’s to much to ask for them to lose 4 out of the last 9 games!
