Dia is mhuire diobh go leir  a cairde and welcome to news report 1092 from Millstreet.

Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this wet Tuesday morning  following a night of high winds an heavy rains.

We were indeed deeply honoured at the weekend when the Eucharistic Bell was brought to our Church. A very large crowd turned up for the historic event and after prayers everybody was invited to come to the altar and ring the bell. We all went up knowing that we will never again get the chance again. People came from many other places to see it and we were so proud of our beautiful church all lit up for the occasion. Next morning it resumed  its journey through the highways and byways of Ireland.

Our town is fast building up the spirit of Christmas. The Festival tree was lit in the Square at the weekend and mini trees are being placed on the houses along the streets.  There is a different approach to the Christmas lighting of the town this year. It seems more personal, and the cost more shared, with the householders putting up their own  trees and lights. The committee are appealing to everyone to  take part,  so that this new idea will be a success . A prize of €100 goes to the best private house and the same to the best business house. So please do put in the effort.
