The Pony Show which is held at the Green Glens every year for various charities was again an outstanding success. Competitions started as early as 8 in the morning and went on late, each of the three nights. Again well done to chief organiser, Keith Griffins and all those connected with this popular venture who bring so much joy to so many people every time.
Next event at the Green Glens will be the mighty Self-Build Show starting on November 9th.
The clocks went back an hour at the weekend which means our evenings will darker much earlier. People are asked to please be very careful at this time of change. Watch out for Children at crossings and especially at school bus stops on country roads.
Early darkness means longer nights, and there’s a host of places to go and people to meet to help wile away the long hours of darkness. Look out for them in your area. Hardworking people are out there planning some lovely events for your enjoyment. Set dancing and card games are never far away, Drawing for both men and women, with Bertie every Tuesday night at the GAA Hall from 7.30 to 9.30. Soon the singing group will become a reality, and will again be open to both genders. Our lovely parish Choir is crying out for new members, Practice every Wednesday night at the Pastoral Centre at 8. Just turn up if you’d like to join.
Our knitting club in open twice every Tuesday, 10.30 to 12.30 at the library and 7 -9 at the Adult Learning centre in the Main St. and I’m glad to say that it is enjoying great popularity. Our young Macra Group are making great strides in the debating. They are also looking for new members.
I’m sure there are lots more. Our Comhaltas Group will be playing at the Clara Inn this Friday night at 8.
There is something out there for everyone. But you must make the effort to get out and find it and enjoy it.
The Christmas Lights Group are asking people to please put little Christmas trees on their houses this Christmas. Place your order for one right away with any member or Nicola McMahon.
To-day November 1st is the first day of the month of the Holy Souls. a Holy Day of Obligation and the Feast of All Saints. To-morrow Wednesday is the Feast of All Souls. Mass in our Church will be at 10am and 7.30 pm. Please look up the Missilette, or the Website for all the details . Vigil Masses will be at 6.30 as usual.
Graveyard Ceremonies will be held on Sunday November 13th.
And Mass of Rememberance for all those who died during the past year will be said in Cullen on Thursday November24th. At 7.30
And in Millstreet Saturday November 26th at 6.30.

Our GAA Club were delighted with the result of their plea for used clothing which took place a few weeks ago. It brought in some badly needed funds for the Club. Now they are going to do it all again ,and will have a collection point at the GAA Hall from 9pm on Monday November 7th .
