“A red sky at night is a shepherds delight, a red sky in the morning is a shepherds warning” … so goes the rhyme, and Geraldine Dennehy captured this great sunset Sunday evening in Ballydaly. Hopefully that will be the case for the week, as though we will get a few showers we are promised warmer weather until the start of next week which will be no harm after the summer we’ve had!

Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to news report 1083 from Millstreet.

Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this rather wet but mild  Tuesday morning.

Our one-day Walking Festival which was held here on Saturday was an outstanding success. Blessed with fine weather, large crowds turned up to take part in the various walks. Over 50 people completed the long trek to Ballyvourney. With even more embarking on the shorter ones. Full marks to our Walks Committee who were on hand throughout. The new loop walk on Clara Mountain has proved very popular, and is attracting more and more people every day. All of our walks are signposted and can be enjoyed by anybody any time.   Details can be seen on the signpost at the Car park in the West End of the Town.
