Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this lovely sunny Tuesday morning.

A million congratulations to Aidan McCaul who has been 30 years in business. A long with his trusty help Tim Ring they have provided us with outstanding service in the hardware trade all that time, and now with his
son Tony on board the future is looking bright. Our sincere thanks goes out to them as we wish them continued success in the future.

Congratulations also go to young Tadg O’Sullivan of Lackabawn who was on the Freemount Ceili Band who was successful at the All Ireland Fleadh in Cavan.

And we welcome back the well known Bobby Evans who competed in the World Badminton Finals which were held in Vancouver, Canada  in the recent past. Bobby who has been teaching at our Community School over the years, is about to retire in the near future. And we wish him many years of happy retirement.

The annual September Horse Fair will be held in the Town next Sunday September 4th. Always a great family day out.

All the schools are about to re-open and   all road users especially motorists are asked to be extra vigilant due to the increase in traffic. And a special greeting to the people whose children will be going into a
brand new school in Cullen  this term.

Our Parent Toddler Group re-opens on Tuesday September 6th at the GAA Hall. Catering for new-borns to 5 year olds. New families welcome. €5 per family.

And the Irish Pre-school, Clara Rd. re-opens on Monday Sept 5th. Contact 02970351

There was a very encouraging attendance at the Menshed meeting which was held at the Canon O Donovan Centre last week which aims to provide an opening for retired  men or any who is looking for a place to go and
people to meet. A further meeting will be held in three weeks time Contact Bertie Buckley 087 6793841.

Our Community School re-opens this week and the Living Scenes Project will resume the in mid-September. This is where retired people go into class with the Transition Year Students for their term and is becoming more popular year by year. Both men and women are invited to partake. IRD Duhallow are hosting a Careers/Employment Exhibition at the Edel Quinn Hall in Kanturk on Wednesday September 28th from 10 am to 1pm.  Local and National Colleges will attend, along with local businesses, and  will give those attending a chance to gather information on a wide variety of courses. Blood Clinic at our GAA Hall to-morrow Wednesday from 5 -8.30 pm. Please support it well.

Duhallow Choral Society Training commences on Tuesday Sept 6th at 7.30 at the Mercy Convent Kanturk. Contact Bred 029 50485

Millstreet Parish choir return to 11.30 mass this Sunday. New members welcome. Those wishing to be on the choir for Christmas should join now. Contact any member for details. Choir practice every Wednesday night in the church, or in the Pastoral Centre.

The Knitting Club resumes in the near future.

Our newly formed Macra Club held a very enjoyable BBQ and social evening at Corkery’s Bar at the Weekend. They welcome new members.

Dancing resumes in Aubane on September 19th.

A note on the Mass leaflet to say that the money raised to date for the church Restoration Fund has amounted to €1.8 million .And our clergy want to say a sincere word of thanks to all who have contributed and still
continue to do so.

Please continue to keep Millstreet clean and tidy. Even a cigarette butt
is litter.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at Corkery’s Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 2, 11, 25, 31 and the jackpot was not won. €100 Abby Atkinson, Crossbarry the seller was
Tarrants Bar and they got €50 sellers prize, €50 went to the Randalls Family, Minor Row.  €20 each to Leah Lehane, Aubane. Daniel O Donoghue, Knochnagree, Margaret Rohan , Priests Cross, Jenifer Lawlor ,Liscahane,  Celine Lehane  Aubane, Siobhan & David McCaul, Liscahane, Carol O Sullivan, Glenleigh, and Jerry O Leary Toorbona.
