Mobile Farm Visits Presentation N.S. Today – A Wonderful Experience for the Children

The very impressive Mobile Farm in place at Presentation N.S., Millstreet today (Bloomsday 16th June 2011).

The children were thoroughly delighted with the visit of the Mobile Farm to their school today.   Clare from Agri Aware was absolutely superb as co-ordinator of the very interesting project and her care and very kind approach to the many animals was utterly inspiring and a tremendous example to the children.   Here we share a selection of images from the wonderful visit when so much was learned by the children on a day unlikely to be forgotten.   Further information on this excellent project is available on www.agriaware.ie  (S.R.)

  1. Forgive me for stating the obvious but bringing “animals” to children in a farming community, isn’t that like the proverbial “bringing coals to Newcastle” (for those who didn’t know Newcastle used to be coal mining country, maybe still is). Or, was it more about face painting, kids always like that?

  2. i’d bet that not many of the children in school have an agricultural background these days, so it would do them no harm.
sure, when i was in the primary school, we were walked to Dineens of Knocknapogue to be shown farm animals.part of the curriculum 🙂
