Hello Patricia and Greetings dear Listeners to Millstreet Regional Report No. 1066.

The All Ireland Rosary Rally takes place this coming Saturday, 4th June at Knock Shrine, Co. Mayo.   Peg O’Shea indicates that there are still a few seats left in the bus which leaves The Square, Millstreet at 6.30 a.m. on Saturday.   For those who may still wish to avail of the remaining seats one may contact Peg on 029-70206 or Essie on 029-70126.   The bus also passes Banteer where the contact there is Margaret on 029-58222.   These details are also on our website report on www.millstreet.ie .
We very specially remember two people who always had such a sincere regard for their native Millstreet and who went to their Eternal Reward within the past week.   We speak of the late Fr. Michael Carroll, Los Angeles & late of Minor Row, Millstreet and of Leo Ryan, Newcastlewest  and late of West End, Millstreet.   Ar dheis Dé go raibh a nanamacha uaisle.

Rose O’Dea of the Irish Cancer Society was presented with two very substantial cheques at Carriganima last night.   These funds were the magnificent fruits of the major “Shave or Dye” event held at the Pub in April.   John P. Kelleher presented an amazing €3,343.00  while Seán Murphy and his dedicated Group of the Pub in Carriganima  presented a very impressive €2,442.00.   Well done to All on such truly magnanimous gestures.

And at the very same Pub in Carriganima on Sunday, 26th June from 3 to 6 there is open-air dancing to Peter Lane and Blackwater Sound and also a very special visit from a host of Global Internet Country and Western Radio Presenters.

A truly historic event takes place this coming Friday 3rd June when there will be a Mass at 10.30a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet where the chief celebrant will be Bishop Bill Murphy.  This Mass is to celebrate the blessing and the official opening  of the new Nano Nagle Extension in Presentation N.S. here in Millstreet.   To remember the Presentation Sisters, parents, pupils, staff past and present and the many friends in the community who supported the fundraising campaign and who continue to support  Presentation N.S.  the organisers would very much like as many past pupils as possible to join in the celebratory occasion on Friday.   All are more than welcome.
