I congratulate you so much on your musical ability, you are wonderful…may I suggest, as a broadcaster of 30 years experience, to add to your ability to convince these judges…next time, be Linehans, throw out the inibitions.Being great talented musicians also requires stage presence, move the bodies guys, look as if this is the greatest thing you have ever done in your life, keep the talented music but lose the wooden faces, produce the great Linehan smiles of enjoyment you get from producing the music. It is within your soul, let us see the Linehan family soul shine in your faces and your body movements…give us what is inside you, you are very talented, be that talent, be proud, be winners.

I presume it is from William 43yrs head of the family via his son Cornelius, is wonderful to see the family names continued, my second and third Christian names are Joseph Thomas after my dad, who was named obviously from his dads brother, Joseph shown in that census list..am very keen to follow the family tree onwards from 2011.
Incidentally Patrick Cornelius, my grandfather who emigrated to NZ in the late 1890′s, had 3 sons Timothy in 1900 the eldest, then Lawrence 1902 (Lawrie), then my dad Joseph Thomas 1905, and a daughter Eileen in 1907, all deceased naturally. Tim never married,lawrie had 2 adopted children son and daughter and Eileen 2 sons.

Thanks Denise, you have confirmed and made this family here on the other side of the world, very very happy, that we have located our beginnings, it is so important to us, we have always known we had strong links to Ireland…Cork, Millstreet and finally after much research Drishane and Dooneens, wow has been a long road to travel, not quite there but still searching..I must say I was in Millstreet in 1997, searching, but only got as far as St Patricks Church, a wonderful very elderly Parish Priest. who over a cup of tea, I think in deference to me coming from New Zealand in search of a Patrick (Lenihan) and Cornelius Linehan. God bless him he knew what the problem was with the spelling, said some words about the English language, said I think you mean Linehan dear boy, produced the biggest, oldest, dustiest register you have ever seen and opened at the birth and baptism of my grandad, patrick and even more important the register entry of his parents our relation and more importantly Cornelius the head of the family, married to Margaret (nee Condon} …sadly I didnt know about and to ask about the Drishane connection, so instead of driving along Station Road,in my ignorance I went back to Cork City..silly me….so close..but 14 years later and older and wiser I have found what my family in New Zealand has been hoping for, our family, in the land we love, Ireland thanks be to God. Of course New Zealand is also in full partnership of our heritage, it is a wonderful country,is where we were made,is our birthright,will not talk rugby of course.
There are many many more stories, will hope to continue my chats with Denise who has been so kind to respond.Who made all this possible, you are so brilliant. Hope you ae not embarassed by this chat, Michael should really just send it to you privately I guess.
