Sacrament of Confirmation Administered in Millstreet on Tuesday

Bishop Bill Murphy, Clergy and Mary Murphy about to enter St. Patrick's Church, Millstreet at 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 29th March 2011 where some 70 young people were about to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Blessed with very good weather Confirmation Day 2011 was a very memorable and special experience for the 70 young Candidates for Confirmation, their Parents, Relatives and Friends.    The music and singing as well as the liturgical dance and the dramatisation of the Gospel were all magnificent and a great credit to All involved.

    1. The lady is carrying the oil of Chrism used by the Bishop when confirming the candidates for Confirmation

  1. I was wondering what a non-ordained person was doing amidst the clergy. Things certainly have changed since my day. Back in 1981, they just left the oil somewhere handy. More blurring of the Royal & Ministerial Priesthoods. Regrettable.
