Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a Cairde and welcome to news report 1057 from Millstreet.

Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this cold but sunny Tuesday morning.

Last Friday night March 26th was a momentous occasion for our Pipe Band.  They celebrated their 60th anniversary at the Dromhall Hotel joined by members of our clergy, a large number of the general public as well as all of the band members themselves and their families and relatives. A special screen was set up and there was an ongoing film of all the bands history on show, before and during the meal. The two remaining founder members, Liam Coffee and Tim O Shea, came in for special mention during the speeches. And there was great emphasis on the number of young people who have come forward to join, thus ensuring the future of the band. A special anniversary Plaque was presented to each member and a special presentation was made to the band on behalf of the Community Council. Following the formalities the night was danced away to the lovely music of the popular Kelt.

The 30th anniversary of Medjugori occurs this year .Please contact John O Connell for details of a Pilgrimmage that is going there on September 3rd. His number as always 026 40007.
