Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this rather wintery Tuesday morning.

I must say a very special Hello to the lovely Jim Blake, working away in his rural shoe repair shop overlooking the peaceful Adrigole Bay in West Cork. Thanks for mending my shoes Jim at the weekend.

Our Website is well worth looking it up this week. See the popular Linehan Family, Donal, James, Conor and their sister Jayme, following their outstanding success on TG4 on Sunday night on the Feis & Blood competition where they won their way through to the semi finals which will be screened in a few weeks time.

Also you will where see Marc Ellis made history by being the first Millstreet man ever to play on a Cork Hurling team. The Allianz Hurling League Div. 1 match which was played in Cork on Sunday resulted in a five-point win by Cork over Offaly.

A million congrats to the Brilliant team in Meelin on their all Ireland win. They will feature in this week’s program of LTV2.

This is my final opportunity to remind you of the Gala night at the Green Glens on this Saturday night February 19th in honour of Sean Radley’s retirement from teaching. Following the 6.30 Vigil Mass, the parade led by our Pipe Band will proceed to the Green Glens Arena for an evening of  nostalgia, merriment, music and refreshments and lots more. Please turn out in large numbers for this wonderful occasion .Some tickets are still available. Contact me if you can’t get one.

As always our Francie Duggan, hasn’t missed the occasion to put pen to paper all the way  down in Australia. Read the lovely lines that he has chosen in praise of our Sean.

Our New Walk on Clara Mountain is getting great coverage on the Irish Independent and other papers. Fully sign posted and properly maintained it is fast becoming the place to go for all those who enjoy the out-of-doors.

And this is just a first, other scenic routes in the area are also to be developed.

A note from Richie O Connor to say that the Duhallow Region of the IFA will celebrate their 40th anniversary  at a Dinner Dance at the Wallis Arms Hotel this Friday night February 18th.starting at 7.30.A number of Presentations will be made on the night. The monthly meeting of our Gramaphone Circle will be held this Friday night Feb. 18th at the Canon O Donovan Centre starting at 8.15 and all are welcome. Presenter Maurice Linehan.

The annual Church Gate Collection in aid of our Day-Care Centre will be held this weekend. Feb. 19/20. Please give generously.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in our church every Wednesday from 10.30 to 8.30. Confessions every Saturday from 12.30 to 1.

The Living Scenes Project at our Community School is nearing the end of another term. A display of this terms work will be on show at the school on Wednesday night March 2nd .and will be officially opened by popular personality George Hook.

The school will also hold a fashion show  later in the Spring.

The Sponsored Weigh-In  goes on in Cullen every Monday night and all are welcome to join.A great place to lose weight and at the same time support their Special Needs Association.Last night 55 people Weigh-In and 71 pounds weight lost.

Millstreet are represented in the county Senior Scór Finals Ovens on Sunday night commencing at 7pm.  At recitation, Jerry Doody competes as do a question time team. and we wish them the best of luck.

Here are the results of this week’s parish Lotto draw which was held at the MalPasso Bar on Sunday night.     Could you please mention in your next Regional report the story of the week in Millstreet in my opinion – Mark Ellis making his National Hurling League debut for Cork Senior hurlers Vs Offaly in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

    Well done Mark you should be very proud of yourself.
