Fondest Greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this calm and bright, Tuesday morning. And welcome to the first Day of February.

To-morrow February 2nd is Candlemus Day, and Candles will be Blessed at 10 am Mass. There’s a box on the Alter where donations can be left towards the cost of candles for the Alter for the coming year.

Thursday is the Feast of St. Blaise and Masses both in Millstreet and Cullen will be followed by Blessing of the Throats. Those Masses will be in Millstreet at 10 am and in Cullen at 7.30pm.

Weekly Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in Millstreet Church every Wednesday from 10.30 to 8.30 pm

People are warned not to leave their vehicles unattended while warming up on these cold mornings   at any time with the keys in, following an incident in Millstreet in which a vehicle was stolen from outside the owners house on our Main St. at 6.45 in the morning, over a week ago and was found burned out several miles away.  So be warned.

Sadly our litter problem is getting out of hand, our roadsides are a disgrace. Please get a grip on this terrible habit and take your litter home to be disposed properly.

Tune in for more local TV, on Wednesday at 8.30 for LTV1 and Thursday night at ten for LTV2. and the repeats starting  on Sunday evening at five  with a lovely program with a religious theme.

Tickets for the Sean Radley celebration are on sale in all the shops. It will be held at the Green Glens on Saturday February 19th.

Organisers meetings every Tuesday Night at the Pastoral Centre starting at 8.30 and all are welcome.

Choir Practice at the same venue every Wednesday night from 8 to 9.30; New members are invited.

A four-night Cookery Class will be held at our Community School, starting on Thursday February 10th,run by the well-known Chef Frank Moynihan.

I’ve a note here from Claire Galvin to say that she will present a show at the Glen Theatre on next Saturday night February 5th, It will consist of extracts from Dancing at Luagneassa, Philadelphia Here I Come ,as well as monologues, and the little actors will range in age from 5 to 14.starts at 7.30. Please support them well.

Next night Sunday February 6th there will be a  rousing concert with Frankie Gavin and De Dannan . For details ring 029 56239.

A monster Set – Dancing Ceili will be held at the GAA Hall in Millstreet on Saturday February 12 th. starting at 8.30. Refreshments will be served. Music by the popular Tim Joe ‘n Ann.

The Weekly Weigh-In continues every Monday night in Cullen in aid of their Special Needs Association. Last night 90 people Weighed –In and 140 pounds weight were lost. There is still time for you to join.

Millstreet secured a double win in the Duhallow Senior Scór Finals in Kanturk on Friday night.  Jerry Doody  at resitation, while a question time team added another victory.
St John’s  came second in the Quiz , and they along with Millstreet progress to a county semi final in Coachford on this Saturday night at 7pm.

GAA
Millstreet overcame Boherbue in the Duhallow Under 21 Football Championship in Millstreet on Friday night. On Saturday next, Millstreet take on Cullen in the Ducon Cup in Cullen at 3.30pm.

The AGM of our Juvenile Club will be held to-morrow Wednesday night February 3rd at the GAA Hall at 8.All welcome.

Knitting Club at the Adult Learning Centre to-night from 7 to 9, all are welcome.

Here are the results of this week’s parish Lotto draw which was held at the Bush Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 27, 30, 31. 32, and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Bertie Buckley. The seller was Donal Guiney, and he got €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Mary Shelly, Kilcorney. €20 each to Mary Kate Lucey, Clondrohid, Margaret Kelleher c/o Ann Burke.
