Jerry Corkery and Tommy Tucker - dedicated stalwarts of Ballydaly G.A.A. over many years - display portraits of the Ballydaly Champions of 1957 and 1960 at the hugely successful Reunion in the Wallis Arms Hotel, Millstreet on Friday, 21st Jan. 2011.
A capacity attendance enjoyed a superb Ballydaly G.A.A. Reunion at the Wallis Arms on Friday night. Here we share images of the historic occasion. Following a splendid meal, a number of very interesting speeches evoking many memories of the 1957 and 1960 Duhallow Novice Championship Teams, were delivered. Margaret Murphy, Poet, Cloghoulabeg recited a marvellous poem recalling the great Teams. Lots of presentations were made to members of the Teams and to relatives of those Team members who had gone to their Eternal Reward. The excellent music for the night was provided by “The Kelt” – Connie, Tom and Pat. John Tarrant was present for the various newspapers. Brendan Murphy and I (S.R.) recorded for LTV2 and our website. Great credit is due to the excellent Organising Committee for co-ordinating such a magnificently successful event. As I walked back home to Mount Leader it was a crisp fresh frosty night.
