The annual Christmas appeal on behalf of Simon goes on , People are asked to please drop non-perishable foods into Hannelie at O Regan’s Mills.where they will collected,for this great cause.

Please give generously.

On Monday evening our Parish Church was crowded for the Nativity Play which was staged by the 200 pupils of the Presentation Convent School. It was a truly spectacular event, and well done to all involved . Sean Radley and Brendan Murphy recorded it for a future program of LYV2.

On Tuesday night of next week, the pupils of the Boys National school will put on a similar Show at the GAA Hall.

Our Juvenile GAA  Club Social was held on Sunday  at the Wallis Arms Hotel.at which a special Presentation was made to the Members of our Scor na nOg Instrumental Music team who won the All Ireland during the year. And in turn they want to express their sincere thanks for the lovely gesture. Team members were. Cian Dennehy, Kelly Murphy, Alanna Barry, and Donal and James Linehan.

The Transition Students of the Community School held their play

Entitled  Lovers in Versailles for three nights during the week . There was very good  attendance and well done to them and their teachers.

The People of Cullen are extremely pleased, following the outstanding success of their Table Quis on Friday night and their Christmas Party on Saturday all in aid of the Special Needs Association. At the Party each Special Guest received a gift and it was made all the sweeter when none other than Conor Culinahane himself turned up to present them. The organisers would like to thank all those who helped in any way to make their events so successful and enjoyable.

The Aubane Christmas Party goes ahead to-night Dec.14th starting with Mass at 8pm. The parish choir will attend.

Good news for the ladies, This year we’re having an event at the Wallis Arms Hotel on January 6th to celebrate the Womens Christmas. Please get your name in right away to avoid disappointment . Contact Mairead Daly at 087 903 14 75 .

Still some time left to shop at home for Christmas. Many congratulations to O Leary Butchers on achieving first prize for their Spiced beef and their apprentice Butcher Shane Cremin of receiving the Craft Butcher award.

Our Post Office has a lot to offer in the run-up to Christmas. Charity Cards, and cards for all occasion . Buy a Book of stamps and get one stamp free. And they have gift vouchers for a host of stores. Please buy your stamps in advance to avoid delays when posting. All of our other stores have loads to offer and again be reminded that Coal, and other fuels could be just the right gift this Christmas.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in our Church every Wednesday from 10.30 to 8.30pm. Confessions,every Saturday from 12.30 to1.

The TV coverage of our church services have been extended and people in the catchment area are asked to check their  TVs when services are on to see if they can get them.

It’s Panto time again at the wonderful Briary Gap in Macroom . This year it’s Red Riding Hood. Curtains going up this Friday night the 17th,  and continuing on the 18, 19 & 20   at 8..Matinees on 18th and 19th at 3pm.

Please take note that some of our bus times have been changed. They are as follows. Daily buses to Killarney out of Millstreet, 7.50 am 10.55 am and 3.55 pm . Daily buses going to Cork 9.40 am and 2.40 pm  Evening bus from Cork to  Killarney via Millstreet leaving Cork at 6.30 in Millstreet a 7.40. these do not apply to Sunday Services.

MILLSTREET Juvenile GAA acknowledged an outstanding past year of achievement at a Victory function in the Wallis Arms Hotel last Sunday. County stars Donncha O’Connor and Paudie Kissane along with former Cork hurling captain Seán Og O hAlpín joined along with players, parents and supporters in the excess of 200 strong attendance to salute a run of divisional and county triumphs.

Here are the results of this weeks pairsh lotto draw which was held at the Mal Passo Bar on Sunday night.

Numbers drawn were  10, 12, 17, 27. and the Jackpot was not on.

€100 went to Marie Corcoran, St. Josephs Gardens, the seller was Noreen Tarrant and she got €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Sheila Corkery ,Adrivale, €20 each to Eugene O Callaghan, Drishane View, Eleanor Edmunds, Main St, Eansie Twomey, The Bridge, Denis O Rahilly c/o Tom Carroll. Morris O Connor, Keale, Ronan Lucey, Killarney Rd. Kathryn & Chelsie Cleary, Clara Rd.  and Aoifa McSweeney, Cullen.  Jackpot for next week €5,600, the draw at McCarthys Bar on Sunday night.
