Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this cold, dry and frosty Tuesday morning.

Joan Anders was invited to meet the President, Mary McAleese when she came to visit Bru Columbanus in Wilton on Friday last. Bru Columbanus is a real haven where people who have loved ones at the Cork University Hospital can stay . Recently Joan raised €3,087 in aid of this wonderful facility, and as a result got to meet the President in person. So well done to Joan and to all who helped her.

Due to the harsh weather, lots of events are being cancelled, so it is advisable to chechk before leaving home. The Cullen Young at Heart Party planned for Friday night next is definitely off.

Bingo in Millstreet this Thursday night is also cancelled,

The Flower arranging demo at the Glen Theatre scheduled  for to-night has been deferred to a later date.

The Castlemagner Players will have the two final stagings of their play, Big Maggie this Friday and Saturday December 3rd & 4th. For enquiries ring 56239.

And on Friday night December 11th they will have Johnnie McAvoy in concert.

The Gala Christmas Concert goes ahead at Drishane Castle on Friday night Dec. 3rd.All proceeds to various children’s charities.

The AGM of our Millsreet & District Association will be held at the Canon O Donovan Centre to-night starting at 7.30.

Our Town Development Christmas Fair will be held,  luckily in the comfort of our GAA Hall from Friday to Sunday this weekend December 3 –5. Opening on Friday from 4 to 9 pm, and on Saturday & Sunday from 12noon to5.with all sorts of Christmas Fare on offer plus warming teas and real Christmas Cheer.

Program 170 of LTV2 this Thursday night at ten, repeated on Sunday night at 8. LT Macroom Wednesday night  and on Sundays from 5pm.

Out at the Launa Bar in Ballinagree this Friday night they will have their Mayor’s Ball .music by Oliver Buckley, Fancy Dress optional and it all kicks off at 9.

IRD  Duhallow ‘s Equality Working Group will hold a Multicultual  Christmas  Event in Millstreet’s Community Hall on Monday December 6th from 6 to 8pm .Admission is free and all are welcome.Festive refreshments will be served and special guest speaker will attend.

Four of our 5th yr students from our  Community School will be going as helpers to Lourdes at Easter and to help raise funds for their trip they will hold a Cake Sale at our Pastoral Centre at 6.30 0n Saturday December 11th.

Kerry Diocesan Pilgrimmage with Bishop Bill Murphy as leader will leave,  out from Cork on April 2nd . 5 nights in Rome and two nights in Assisi. For details ring 064775 82 19.

The New Year swim in the Black Water at Dooneen will go ahead again, proceeds to Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in our Parish Church every Wednesday from 10.30 am to 8.30 pm.

Confessions every Saturday from 12.30 to 1.

In Cullen the Blessed Sacrament is exposed on Thursday Dec2nd  at 7pm.followed by Mass at 7.30 for Jeramiah FitzGerald, Knocknageeha.

Milllstreet Ballad Group contest the Cork County Scór na nÓg semi finals on a staging in Dromagh Hall on Saturday night commencing at 7pm  and  we wish them the best of good luck.

Here are the results of this weeks Parish Lotto draw which was held at The Bush Bar on Sunday night.      The Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Tony & Robert Carroll , the seller was Tom Carroll and he got €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Shane & Margaret Brown, €20 each to Andrew Buckley, Murphys Tce,  Peter Horgan, Kilmeedy, James O Mahony, Cloghoula, Mary Cronin, Main St. Catherine Cronin, Liscahane, Donnacha Kelleher, Tooreenbawn, Zeal Dennehy & Family, Liscahane, and Margaret Healy, Minor Row. Jackpot for next week €5,200 the draw at Corkery’s Bar on Sunday night.
