Our vibrant Town Development Group held a very successful Bazaar at the Community Hall on Sunday afternoon. It was a first for them and it showed great co-operation and strength in the manner in which they all put their shoulders to the wheel for the common good.

The Bazaar was the Groups way to kick-start their special shopping week which will run until next Monday  November 22nd. Our shops and Stores are offering big reductions right across the board.  So don’t miss this opportunity to pick up a bargain.

In December they will have a repeat of last years Christmas Market. But indoors in the Community GAA Hall instead of on the streets. It will run on the weekend of  December  3rd-5th. They also have new plans for our Christmas Lighting of the Town.

In the New Year le conamh De, they will hold a special Welcome Home Festival, also a Walking weekend, now that they have developed some new Loop walks in the area, thus opening up the best of our spectacular scenery.

Our Post Office want to remind you of the many services that they provide, especially in the run-up to the Festive Season. They will have Charity Cards, in support of Cystic Fibrosis, and Kidney Health. If you buy your stamps by the book, you get one stamp free. Mobile Top-Up, Prize Bonds. Gift Vouchers also available. As well as banking service.

Jack Lane will be on the radio programme “Coleman at Large” on NewsTalk Radio,  Wednesday 17th November 10pm sometime between 10 pm and midnight to talk about some history and maybe the Aubane Society. (we will make make the podcast available on millstreet.ie the following morning if possible). update 18th Nov:Due to the developing news of an impending bailout for Ireland, the schedule of the programme was changed from a discussion of wearing the Poppy in Ireland, to a discussion on theimpending bailout, so Jack did not get time on the airways tonight.

Millstreet Gramaphone Circle Meeting on Friday night November 19th at 8.15, and as its annual Listeners Choice night, patrons are invited to bring in the CDs of their choice and all are welcome.

Don’t forget to tune in to Program 168 of LTV2 this Thursday night at 10, and the repeat on Sunday at 8.

A note here from Tommy Tucker to say that a meeting to organise a night to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ballydaly’s winning of the Duhallow Football Championship in 1960, will be held in Ballydaly Hall on Monday night next November 22nd. Please support it well.

Public Meeting in the Wallis Arms Hotel to-morrow Wednesday  night at 8 o clock, organised by IRD Duhallow. Here are the results of this week’s parish lotto draw which was held at the Wallis Arms Hotel on Sunday night.

Numbers drawn were 5, 21,  22 ,24. and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Gerard O Sullivan, Liscahane, the seller was me fein and I got €50 sellers prize. €50 went Liam Healy, Fairfield Rise. €20 each to Neil Flahive, Drishane Rd.
