Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this crisp, beautiful sunny Tuesday morning.

The National Dairy Show will be the big attraction here in Millstreet this coming Saturday October 16th. As always it will be held indoors at the mighty Green Glens Complex. As well as the obvious, there will be many other features for everybody’s enjoyment. A cookery Demonstration at 2.30 and would you believe the Sam Maguire itself is coming to be admired and treasured. See the posters and website for all the details. Farmers are expected to come in larger numbers than ever, following all the fine weather and the year’s work done.Boaichas le Dia.

The Pony owners Show will be held here on October 21, 22 &23rd. with entries coming in from all parts of the Country. This Show is run every year for charity, with some local needy cases benefiting from it as well as many other parts of the country.

And following the abundant harvest, people are asked to please seek out the Country Markets in their area and buy local products. Country Market in Rathmore every Saturday.

The sod has been turned for the New School in Cullen, It’s being built opposite their church in the Village. Sadly the last shop in Cullen Village closed recently and will be sadly missed.

The monthly Community Council Meeting will be held at the Youth Centre to-night starting at 9, All members please attend.

The monthly meeting of our gramophone Circle will be held this Friday night at the Canon O Donovan Centre starting at 8.15 and all are welcome.

Every good wish to Raymond Gilbourne, Husband of Gillian Kelleher, Killarney Rd. who is going forward to be a Deacon  in our Church ,and when his training is complete he will provide   back-up for our clergy, who are getting  fewer all the time.

There is Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in our church every Wednesday from 10.30 AM to 8.30pm and people are asked to earnestly pray for vocations.

The Al-Anon Family Support Group will hold a public meeting at the GAA Hall in Millstreet on Wednesday October 20th at 8.30. Light refreshments will be served and all are welcome.

Congraulations to Millstreet who overcame Boherbue last night to capture the Duhallow U16 Football Championship title in Ballydesmond.

An last but not least, the Sam Maguire is coming to Millstreet schools this very day, so you can imagine the excitement.

Here are the results of this week’s parish lotto draw which was held at the Bush Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 12, 14, 19, 20   and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Tara Bourke, LA. The seller was her mother Margaret and she got €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Michael Murphy and his Mother Mary, Killarney Rd. €20 each to John Barrett, Aubane, Mary Ankettell, Church St. Denise Cronin, Minor Row. Margaret Murphy, Cloghoulabeg, Marie & Stephen Murphy, Old Coach Rd. Michael O Sullivan, Kilmeedy, John Crowley c/o Tom Carroll,  and Mary Sheahan, Ballinatona, Jackpot for next week €3,800 the draw at Corkery’s Bar on Sunday night.
