v      RATHDUANE NATIONAL SCHOOL: The appeal concerning the future of Rathduane National School and the retention of its two teachers has been returned successfully by the Department of Education thanks to the great efforts and interest given by the Board of Management, Parents and friends of Rathduane N.S. and the local community.  However, the future viability of the school depends solely on numbers attending in September.  The retention of the second teacher is conditional on the grounds that 12 children are enrolled.  Therefore, the support of parents of school going children will be welcomed.
