Fondest greetings dear listeners/readers  and I wish you all the very best on this lovely Tuesday morning.

The Duggan Family are pulling out all the stops to make their re-enactment of the renowned Drishane Garden Fete a day to remember on Sunday while at the same time raising great money for the Baby Jacob fund. See posters for details.

Our beautiful Country Park will be open of course every day .

A very full week just gone past here in Millstreet and an even fuller one coming up. The annual Mass at Tubrid Well was blessed with brilliant sunshine on Friday evening last. The crowds were well up on former years. No less than four priests concelebrated , the parish choir attended and amplification was provided as always by the treasured John Anthony O Sullivan.

Items for this week include the Golden Jubilee  celebrations for Mons. Manning on Friday night, The resumption of the Drishane Garden Fete this time  in aid of the Jacob Fund, on Sunday and also the Centenery of Kilcorney Feis on Saturday and Sunday. To name but a few.

On Friday night the Jubilee Mass in honour of Mons. Manning will be concelebrated and will  start at  8pm.Afterwards a  reception will be held at the GAA Hall where a presentation will be made to him by a member of the parish council,  on behalf of our people.

While out in Kilcorney, they  are staging a two day event to celebrate the centenary of their famous Kilcorney Feis.That’s on Saturday and Sunday. Again see posters for details.

There will be prayers for those doing exams. in Banteer on this Friday evening May 28th at 7.30 with Fr. FitzGerald and Fr. Winters.

Our Leaving Cert Students will have their Graduation Mass in the School Library this evening starting at 8 and all are welcome.

The fundraising events in aid of Star Trax Recording Studios   are ongoing. This Friday its all happening for them at Hourigans Bar, Newmarket, and in Millstreet’s Wallis Arms Hotel on Friday June 11th. Please support them well.

The AGM of our ICA will be held at the GAA Hall to-night starting at 8. New members welcome.

Our Knitting Club is becoming very popular. Its on every Thursday night from 7 to 9 at the Adult Learning Centre, Main St. All welcome.

3 ball scramble in aid of Cullen Special needs Association at Kanturk Golf Course, this Friday. May 28th. Contact 087 13723 94, or 087 26172 88.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament every Wednesday from 10.30 to 8.30 pm They are looking for volunteers who would like to put their names down for specific times so that every hour will be covered during the duration of the Exposition. List at the back of the church.

Tickets for the Cork v Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship game at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday next will be on sale from the MUNSTER GAA TICKET VAN at Coleman’s Centra, today Tuesday from 2.30pm to 4.00pm.

U12 FOOTBALL: Millstreet  V Carbery Rangers in  the county U12 Football championship,in Rosscarbery on this Saturday at 7, and we wish them the best of luck.

The AGM of Los Zarcos on to-morrow Wednesday night at the Wallis Arms Hotel starting at 9.

Here are the results of this weeks parish lotto draw which was held at Corkery’s Bar on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 1, 10. 24, 30 and the Jackpot was not won. €100 went to Patsy Corcoran , Pound Hill,  she was also the seller and got €50 sellers prize. €50 went to Bridie Dwyer, Coomligane, €20 each to Con O’Connor, Rathrue, Mary Forde Liscahane, Patrick Corkery, c’o Corkerys Bar, David Tarrant of Tarrants Bar, Claire O Sullivan, Dooneen, Catherine O Leary, Dromnahilla, Geraldine O Leary Altamount, and Barry & Evan Murphy, Rathcoole. Jackpot for next week €5,000 the draw at the MalPasso on Sunday night.

And  finally all of Millstreet will be shouting for Niamh Kavanagh this week in the EuroVision Contest. We made her our own when she won it here in ’93.
